Construction Sites

Elective module

Course

The words “construction site” mark a place in transformation: something is changing, is not yet finished. Something is being constructed, deconstructed, or reconstructed. A construction site defines a temporary space which refers partially to the surrounding context and is at the same time separated from it. Demarcations like fences turn construction sites into exhibition sites. In this seminar we will examine all kinds of construction sites: large and small construction sites in the city, construction sites in one’s own home and also construction sites in the figurative sense. We will observe, document, analyze, intervene, and build ourselves. The seminar’s media: photography, drawing, text, and installation.
